RSE is available from USP for routine use. Most BET assays are performed using a CSE, which is a secondary calibration analyte and is provided as lyophilized preparations of a purified LPS. CSE is widely used in test for confirmation of labeled lysate sensitivity, interfering factors, routine tests and positive control.
For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Purpose
Used for sensitivity verification, interference testing, and the preparation of various positive controls in tests involving limulus reagents.
Procedure
1.
Dissolution: Add 1 mL of water for bacterial endotoxin testing. After reconstitution, mix thoroughly on a vortex mixer for 15 minutes.
2.
Dilution: Use water for bacterial endotoxin testing to prepare bacterial endotoxin standard solutions at the desired concentrations (e.g., 2.0λ, λ, 0.5λ, 0.25λ, etc.). Mix on a vortex mixer for 30 seconds after each dilution.
Precaution
1.
1 EU/mL endotoxin solution can be used to prepare a series of endotoxin solutions of varying concentrations by diluting the endotoxin in a 1:1 ratio; the diluted endotoxin must be used within 4 hours.
